What's on in August
The month of August is a highlight in the island's calendar, with the popular Battle of Flowers parade as well as Jersey's boutique music festival Jersey Live. But there are plenty more unique events and happenings to discover - take a look....
29th July - 7th August - Oddsocks at Durrell
Shakespeare comes to Durrell again this year as Oddsocks stage an outdoor production of The Comedy of Errors on the grass at Jersey's wildlife park. Bring a picnic - and warm clothing, and expect a memorable (if rather alternative) Shakespeare performance with the sights and sounds of Durrell's animals providing a unique background.

4th August - The Havre Des Pas Seaside Festival
Sunglasses on as Jersey's Havre des Pas embraces its seaside heritage with a bright and lively carnival-style seaside festival. The free annual event features beach activities, live music, arts and crafts and food fair all centred around the Victorian bathing pool - one of the few natural sea water swimming pools in Europe.

5th & 6th August - Much Ado About Nothing at Mont Orgueil Castle
More open air Shakespeare, but this time it's with the historic Mont Orgueil Castle as a backdrop. Expect comedy, drama and plenty of energy as the American Drama Group Europe present Shakespeare's classic play outdoors at the castle. Make sure you get your viewing spot early - castle gates open at 5.45pm, and the production will begin at 7.30pm.

8th & 9th August - The Battle of
Jersey's iconic annual Battle of Flowers takes to the seafront for a parade of flower-festooned floats, musicians and street entertainment. It's one of the island's highlights for its carnival-style atmosphere and celebration of island traditions. There's a day parade, and a moonlight parade on Friday evening, climaxing in a spectacular firework display.

Durrell at Twilight
Explore Jersey's wildlife park after hours at half price on four Fridays in August, with activities for all the family including discovering the animals that come out after dark as well as scavenger hunts, a bouncy castle, merry-go-round and live acoustic music.

Jersey Film Festival
Jersey Film Festival will be screening a free programme of film classics in the park from the 10th to the 16th August 2013. Bring a picnic and something to sit on - the screenings begin at 8.30pm every evening.

Jersey Live is your chance to see a line up of top rated artists and bands up close at this popular boutique music festival which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. Look out for a full-of-atmosphere event with headliners including Fat Boy Slim, Example, Bastille and Gabrielle Aplin.
