Castle picnics

Jersey's lucky enough to have not one but two castles, and both Elizabeth Castle and the medieval Mont Orgueil Castle make great picnic locations. Choose a spot in the shadow of the battlements at Elizabeth Castle or close to Mont Orgueil's fragrant herb garden or on the castle top for dizzying views. Picnics on the water

For a luxury picnic destination… how about your own private yacht? Jersey has a wealth of private yacht charter companies so you can stop off at any of the island's bays and find your own unforgettable lunch spot. Or pack up a picnic and catch a RIB trip to the white sands of Les Minquiers reefs - these pristine stretches of sandbank are a glorious spot to spread out your picnic blanket - and you may even spot dolphins on the way.
