Stars in the Kitchen: Michael Wignall Dinner at Tassili
Two incredible chefs, one unforgettable dinner. Guests at Tassili were relieved to see that there were no sparks flying when Michael Wignell, head chef at the two Michelin star restaurant The Latymer joined Grand Jersey's Richard Allen in the kitchen - instead the lucky diners were treated to a seven course dinner they won't forget.
Incredible flavour combinations and some precise 'artwork' were features of the meal, produced by Michael Wignall and Richard Allen. And just to make the experience even better, each of the dishes was paired with a specially chosen champagne from Perrier Jouet and Mumm.
Michael Wignall was delighted to hear that his restaurant, The Latymer had been awarded a second Michelin Star in this year's Michelin guide. The Latymer is fast becoming one of the best restaurants in the Surrey area, scooping four AA Rosettes and its first Michelin star in 2009, followed by five AA Rosettes (one of only eight restaurants in the UK to receive such an accolade) in 2011, and this year's award of two Michelin stars.
It's the second time Michael Wignall has been invited to collaborate with Grand Jersey's executive head chef Richard Allen on a very special dinner, and the Jersey chef doesn't seem to mind sharing his kitchen. Richard said: 'I am delighted to be welcoming Michael to our kitchen for the second time, he is a great chef and our team will certainly pick up some great tips!'
