See a different side to the island

If setting sail to a secluded island bay, dropping anchor for lunch and a swim sounds like your idea of a perfect day, then read on. Chartering a yacht or catamaran for a leisurely sail, or a RIB to speed around Jersey's coast is an ideal way to see a different side of the island.

A favourite route for Nigel Coxshall of Jersey Yachting is his South Coast sail, past landmarks like Janvrin's Tomb and Corbière, with plenty of opportunities to stop at secluded bays like Belcroute and Beauport for lunch. 'It's a very enjoyable way to see the coastline, with plenty of sunbathing and swimming opportunities in the summer. Most people fly into the island, so this is a chance to see Jersey's bays and beaches from a different perspective.'

Chartering a boat like Nigel's 38-foot catamaran 'Farways' is simple in Jersey where you're never more than a few minutes from the sea. The best time? 'May through to August are the best months, when the sun is shining, you can moor up in a bay and go for a swim or snorkel'. Find out more about Jersey Yachting's charters and cruises here.

Jersey Seafaris trip to Les Minquiers sandbanks

Pristine sandbanks stretching into the distance, your own islands to explore and seals and dolphins to spot. And it's all within twenty minutes of Jersey… well as long as you're in a super-fast RIB like the one operated by Jersey Seafaris. Add a different dimension to your Jersey experience and escape to your very own desert(ed) island. Or a private bay, a reef or two or perhaps even the French coast for dinner and back. And did we mention the dolphins?

Les Écréhous, accessible via a RIB trip with Jersey Seafaris

With their deserted sandbanks and fishermen's huts, the Écréhous are a unique location to explore, swim and snorkel in the clear water or stay for a picnic. And yes, the sea really is that colour. Don't believe us about the dolphins? Take a look at this superb Jersey Seafaris video for a glimpse into what you might see during a RIB trip. Find out more about Jersey Seafaris here.
