L'Horizon offering special Afternoon Tea in support of Donna Annand Melanoma Charity
L’Horizon Beach Hotel & Spa is forecasting ‘sunshine’ on a plate this month.
The AA Four Red Star hotel in St Brelade will be serving up a very special Afternoon Tea throughout July in aid of its charity of choice, the Donna Annand Melanoma Charity.
The kitchen team have designed the glorious menu featuring a scrumptious selection of finger sandwiches including smoked salmon and cucumber, spicy prawn and beef with horseradish and dill pickle.
As well as tasty tea cakes and scones, there are some mouth-watering sweet treats such as ‘sun-inspired’ lemon tarts with crisp meringue and homemade lemon curd as well as pink velvet cupcakes with delicious rose petal cream and dried raspberries, made to look like the gerbera in DAMC’s logo which is worn by all the staff at the hotel.
Keen to help shine a light on the life-saving work of its charity of choice, L’Horizon will donate £10 from each afternoon tea served directly to DAMC.
Commenting on this special menu, Shaun McGachan, L’Horizon’s Hotel Manager, said, “We’re delighted to be launching this special afternoon tea to help raise awareness and funds for the Donna Annand Melanoma Charity, the fantastic local charity we support. As a beachside hotel, we feel it’s really important to promote sun-safe habits however we can.”
DAMC was established in 2011 to educate people of the dangers of malignant melanoma, following the death of local woman Donna Annand from the disease at the age of just 29.
Their key message is prevention, protection and early detection as skin cancer is one of the most preventable forms of cancer.
Kerry Petulla of DAMC said, “This is a great opportunity to remind everyone how to play safe in the sun this summer. L’Horizon Beach Hotel & Spa’s fantastic beachside location is perfect to promote sun awareness and make sure that it is at the forefront of everyone's minds. We are grateful to the hotel for its continued support in helping us raise awareness of sun safety.”
The special afternoon tea menu is priced at £24 or £35 with a glass of Champagne. Reservations can be made by calling 01534 743101.
