Grand Jersey's Eamonn Elliott wins prestigious award
Grand Jersey's General Manager Eamonn Elliott has just been named the Young Director of the Year by the Institute of Directors. The prestigious national award, presented at The Grange Hotel in London on Friday 11th October, recognises outstanding achievement by a director.
The award represents yet another glittering accolade for the five star Grand Jersey Hotel with its Michelin-starred restaurant Tassili headed up by award-winning chef Richard Allen. Speaking after the awards presentation, Eamonn Elliott said: 'I have received this award on behalf of all my team at Grand Jersey, it is as much their award as it is mine'.
Irish-born Eamonn Elliott has worked in some of the most beautiful hotels and country houses in England, from Bolton Abbey and the Devonshire Arms to the gorgeous Mount Falcon Estate in Ireland's County Mayo. What most people don't know about this ebullient hotel manager is that he used to play professional football, and on his day off, you'll probably find him playing with his local team here on the island.
What's his favourite part of the hotel? Eamonn says: 'Walking through the hotel as I do, you see the castle from so many of our windows, balconies and terraces, but I never get tired of this view. It's constantly changing with the seasons and the tides, and to me it's the perfect backdrop for an amazing hotel'.
