Treat your taste buds to a culinary staycation at L’Horizon Beach Hotel & Spa this Liberation Day.
The AA Four Red Star hotel in St Brelade has a foodie’s feast in store for 9 th May, celebrating the very best local produce.
This special Liberation Day offering begins with a BBQ cookery masterclass in the stunning beachside setting of the Lower Terrace. Guests will learn the art of creating the perfect barbeque as Executive Head Chef Andrew Soddy demonstrates methods to produce falling-off-the-bone tender meats, how to cook the perfect steak and challenging thinking, proving that there is more to a BBQ than sausages and burgers! Attendees will then enjoy the fruits of their ‘al fresco learning labour’ after the class with a delicious BBQ lunch.
As the sun starts to set, guests will move to The Grill for a stunning four course tasting menu showcasing Jersey’s fabulous home grown produce. After a pre-dinner drink, they’ll enjoy a foraging starter including Jersey seafood, La Mare gin infused oysters, seaweed and herbs followed by a Jersey Royal Potato consommé.
The main attractions include a choice of Liberation IPA braised blade of Jersey beef or award- winning fluffy furka goat’s cheese filo, whilst it’s a ‘Wonder of Black Butter’ for dessert, a Jersey Wonder dusted in cinnamon and served with Jersey Black Butter parfait and brandy gel. Each delicious course of the celebratory menu is accompanied by a specially selected wine pairing.
Commenting on the weekend Thomas Burford, Hotel Manager said, “This Liberation Day package really celebrates the fantastic abundance of produce Jersey has to offer. Guests will enjoy some delicious dishes and take home some expert tips to be a grill master at home. It promises to be a fabulous foodie staycation!”
The Liberation Day package is priced at £500 for two people and includes an overnight stay in a sea view room, a full breakfast and a voucher for a L’Horizon takeaway BBQ pack for two.
