June's a beautiful month to explore Jersey. Not only is the island bursting with spring and early summer flowers, it's also a great time to enjoy fresh local seafood - preferably on a sea view terrace somewhere! Motoring Festival 597

June 7-9 - International Motoring Festival

Classic and vintage car fans won't want to miss the annual International Motoring Festival, as the island turns into a showcase for some rare and classic vintage cars. Engines revving, the Moonlight Sprint and Hill Climb events are the chance to watch the classic racing cars in action, or get a closer look at your favourites in the arena. And don't forget your camera as the vehicles take to Jersey's picturesque roads and lanes for the Touring Event.

June 13-16 - Norman French Market

Expect even more of a continental atmosphere in St Helier this weekend as the Norman French Market arrives in Weighbridge Place, with everything from sizzling crêpes to cider, and plenty of delicious French cheese on offer in this traditional French village-style market. Come to browse, buy or just to soak up the alfresco atmosphere.

June 14 - Man of Steel Premiere

Move over Cannes, Jersey has its own celebrity film premiere this year, as Jerseyman and star of Superman: Man of Steel, Henry Cavill returns to the island with a few of the cast members to walk the red carpet for this special Jersey showing of the film. Superman actor Henry Cavill was born in Jersey and will be flying in for the Jersey premiere, held two days after the UK premiere. Air traffic controllers at Jersey Airport will be keeping their eyes peeled for any unscheduled red cape arrivals...

Bonne Nuit 597 Crop

June 15 - Bonne Nuit Harbour Festival

Come and enjoy the fun at one of Jersey's picturesque harbours as Bonne Nuit plays host to this lively family day out. There are games on the beach for little ones, live music, refreshments and craft stalls and even a coconut shy! Leave your car at Les Platons carpark, there's a free shuttle service down to the harbour.

June 21 - 'In the Shadow of the Castle' - Gorey Guided Walk

Discover the hidden tales of Gorey and Mont Orgueil Castle during this popular walk, where you'll learn more about everything from Neolithic remains to the castle's famous residents. Wind your way through the harbour village and country lanes with Blue Badge Guide Arthur Lamy, and learn about Jersey's oyster history, treachery in the castle, a dolmen, and the island's very own railway. Booking is essential for this popular walk, held on Friday mornings and afternoons.

Sunset Concerts 2010 Saturday Night 597 Crop
June 28 & 29 - National Trust Sunset Concerts in association with Ashburton

Free music concerts in a stunning 'natural ampitheatre overlooking the sea, the National Trust's Sunset Concerts in association with Ashburton are the stuff that dreams are made of. Bring along a picnic and something sparkling to sip and soak up the midsummer atmosphere at these two evenings of live music on National Trust land at Grantez.
When: Friday 28th and Saturday 29th June. Entry starts at 5.30pm, music begins around 7.15pm and finishes at sunset (approximately 9.15pm)
