The Atlantic Hotel to host Jazz Brunch in support of Hospitality Action’s Social Sunday
Established in 1837, Hospitality Action is a charity close to Atlantic Managing Director, Patrick Burke’s, heart. The charity offers vital assistance to all who work, or have worked within hospitality and have found themselves in crisis. The money raised goes towards grants for essential items including food, equipment and central heating, supporting isolated and lonely retired hospitality workers and running educational seminars advising catering students of the dangers of drug and alcohol misuse.
Social Sunday is the brainchild of Jason Atherton who ran his first Social Sunday fundraising event in 2015. Since then Social Sunday has grown to become a national celebration of the best that the nation’s hospitality industry has to offer, showcasing amazing food, service and unique experiences.
Will Holland, Executive Chef at The Atlantic Hotel and Ocean Restaurant, has pulled together a fantastic al fresco barbecue menu based on the freshest Jersey ingredients. The menu will include dishes such as Jersey oysters on ice, Roast Jersey beef sirloin and Crevettes in the shell served with garlic and herb butter. As the name suggests, brunch will be enjoyed to the sound of live jazz, performed by the Atlantic Quartet. Led by Jersey’s very own ‘songbird’ Jessica Lloyd Chays, the band will be playing a timeless selection of jazz, blues and a vintage take on some modern favourites.

Hospitality Action has long offered a lifeline to those in the hospitality industry who have fallen on hard times and we are very pleased to be doing our bit to help.”
