Picture Jersey winners
From the hundreds of photos submitted in the Picture Jersey competition, these six have been chosen.
Kevin Brace - The White House
"I have had my eye on that shot for a couple of years, but the light has never been right. It was a day in May which was overcast when it was perfect."
Judges chose five shots and shortlisted a further ten for the Jersey Evening Post Readers' Choice. Readers voted for Kevin Brace's shot of The White House in St Ouen's Bay.
More than 450 readers voted, one of whom will win lunch at Bohemia for casting their vote.
Vince Thorne - Tranquility. Taken at La Rocque
"I have a stressful job and taking photos is my way of relaxing. I got there one summer evening in June to watch the sunset. The tide was just starting to flow, and it just looked perfect. There's virtually no work to the photo - that is how I took it."
This was the third year that Luxury Jersey Hotels ran the competition, in association with the Jersey Evening Post and Jersey Post, who kindly sponsored it.
Alan Pryor - Le Braye slip in August
"A load of photographers had gathered at the bottom of the slip to take shots of the sunset and the tower, and the kitesurfers had just got out. I decided to walk up and saw how the vans helped frame the scene. The clouds looked great too - you couldn't ask for better."
Przemyslaw Shem Podstawka - Les Écréhous
"I have been taking photos since I was about 8 years old and whenever I am out I have my camera. I went out to Les Écréhous for a picnic with some friends, and went for a walk and saw this."
The judges were the owner of The Atlantic Hotel and Chairman of Luxury Jersey Hotels, Patrick Burke; JEP picture editor Peter Mourant; and Jersey Post's marketing manager Catherine Gasston.
At the winners' presentation at Grand Jersey, Mr Burke said: "Luxury Jersey has been going now for five years, and being involved in this initiative is truly one of the most rewarding things that we do because it involves so many people in the community.
"We asked Islanders to submit photos that capture the vibrancy of life in Jersey, and over three years more than 1,000 images have been submitted, of an extremely high standard."
David Evans - Out with the Jersey Drag
"I was following the hunt and stopped the car in a spot overlooking Gorey because thought it made a nice backdrop. I was just hoping that that the horses would come past, and they did."
One entrant - David Evans - won twice.
David Evans - Paraglider at Les Platons
"I was walking along Les Platons when I saw the paraglider just hovering out. He was in a perfect position, with the sea and sky, and land."
Mrs Gasston said: "It was a tough decision picking the winners, and while I'm sorry that not everyone can be a winner, I believe that those photographs that have been chosen will make a really outstanding pack of postcards and will do an excellent job of promoting our beautiful island."
The print run of 24,000 postcards will be completed next spring, and guests staying at any of the six hotels that make up the Luxury Jersey Hotels consortium will be given them. The hotels are The Atlantic Hotel, Grand Jersey, The Club Hotel & Spa, L'Horizon Hotel & Spa, Hotel de France and The Royal Yacht. They will also be sold by Jersey Post to raise money for their chosen charity.
