Hotel Chefs bake to help the elderly
Chefs from two of Jersey’s top hotels have baked some festive fare for elderly Islanders to enjoy this Christmas.
Nicolas Valmagna, Executive Chef at the AA Five Star Grand Jersey Hotel & Spa and Andrew Soddy, Executive Head Chef at the AA Four Red Star L’Horizon Beach Hotel & Spa baked biscuits and mini mince pies to donate to the Age Concern Hamper Appeal.
Last year, more than 300 hampers were delivered around the Island to elderly residents on lower incomes thanks to all the donations from Islanders.
Simon Miller, General Manager Hand Picked Hotels Jersey said, “We’ve been really keen to support Age Concern over the last few years. It’s a fantastic charity offering a real lifeline to older people in the community who may have little contact with family or friends or who may perhaps be struggling financially.
We are delighted to be supporting this campaign, one that this year is encouraging us all to get to know the older members of our community and helping to make Christmas a little bit more special for elderly Islanders.”
