de Gruchy launches Easter appeal to support Freeda
10/04/2025
As part of its ongoing charity partnership with Freeda, de Gruchy is calling on the community to help bring some Easter joy to women and children in Jersey who have been affected by domestic abuse.
From Thursday 10th to Thursday 17th April, customers are invited to donate Easter eggs or gifts, which can be dropped off at the store’s concierge desk, located in the beauty department on the ground floor.
All donations will be distributed by the Freeda team to those families currently living in their safe house as well as those they support in the wider community, helping to make Easter a little brighter for those facing challenging times.
Simon Youden, Store Director at de Gruchy, said, “We are proud to support Freeda in their vital work and this Easter appeal is a simple yet meaningful way for the community to come together and make a difference. Every donation, big or small, will help bring a smile to the women and children Freeda supports.”
Commenting on the initative Kate Wright, CEO of Freeda, said, “We're truly grateful to the team at de Gruchy for this wonderful Easter appeal, and to everyone who donates a little something. Every egg and gift given will show the women and children we support in escaping domestic abuse and re-building their lives, that they're not alone over the Easter holiday.”
For over 200 years, de Gruchy has been a trusted name in Jersey, known not just for quality and service but also for its commitment to supporting the local community. This Easter initiative is part of a wider partnership with Freeda, reinforcing de Gruchy’s dedication to making a positive difference in the lives of those who need it most.
